Brioche knitting allow us to add some vertical stripes in our knits, something which is not so easy to implement otherwise. Near the end of this shawl I felt the need to balance all this vertically with horizontal stripes. Because what’s better than stripes ? More stripes!
Garter stitch stripes are easy and brainless. Even if I really like to work with charts and complex stitch designs, sometimes my brain needs some rest, don’t you too? Garter stitch or stocking stitch is perfect then!
I love to play with colours and arrange them differently in the different sections of a design. This one does not make me lie. With its plain garter stitch sections, its two-coloured brioche sections, its striped garter stitch section and the future lace border, it’s a all-in-one design!
Since this photos have been shot, I had time to knit the lace border and block the shawl. The pattern has also been techedited and tested. And I wore the shawl a couple of times outside as the days are getting colder and colder (yay! Atmn is almost here!!) I’m thrilled to say that I think this one is ready to be published and will actually be available on Friday 07 Septembre at 10AM! 😊
