Autumn Box with Le Chat qui Tricote

October 17, 2017

With the shift in seasons, the new yarn and treats Autumn Box is here! And it’s a big one!

Buy the Autumn Box on Le Chat qui Tricote e-shop (55€)

The Patterns

This time, you’ll not get one but two patterns in your Autumn Box! Indeed, both the Gliding Birds Mitts and Hat patterns are included in this new box. Like a bird rolling around in updrafts, the Gliding Birds patterns play with cables and eyelets. The Mitts and Hat are the new instalment of the Gliding Birds collection. More details on the Gliding Birds Collection in my previous post.

Worked from the bottom-up the Gliding Birds Hat features a cabled ribbing which evolves into an easy-to-remember swirling pattern. The slouchy top of the hat is enhanced by decreases worked
in pattern to form a star.

Worked from the bottom up with both a tubular cast-on and bind-off, these mitts feature an easy-to-remember swirling pattern on the top of the hand and a cable on the wrist.

The Yarn

Fingering yarn is my absolute favourite yarn weight. The TONS of skeins and balls I have in my stash are a living proof of it! Choosing the yarn which will be included in this Box was then pretty easy. Le Chat qui Tricote Féline is one of my favourite fingering yarn. It has a great stitch definition and its average twist allow it to wear and drape beautifully.

The Autumn Box contains one skein of Le Chat qui Tricote Féline and is available in seven (!) colours: Terre de Sienne, Amour, Nocturne, Caramel, Mistigris, Chamallow and Émeraude. Back in June, I choose to knit mine in Amour, a pretty deep true red. I couldn’t move my eyes away from it for the whole time I was in the shop which can only mean one thing: I had to knit it!

The Treats

Besides the yarn and the patterns, we partnered with the beauty salon Les Petits Soins (41 rue Granet, 13100 Aix-en-Provence) to include one bottle of Kure Bazaar nail polish in each Autumn Box. If you know me “in real life”, you should have noticed that I rarely wear make-up but definitively enjoy playing with nail polish. I even try some nail art once in a while, when I’m patient enough to wait for the different colours to dry (well, that’s not often because I’m not a patient woman!). Kure Bazaar nail polish are 4-free nail polishes made with 85% of natural sourced ingredient (no toluene, no formaldehyde, no dibutylphthalate, and no synthetic camphor) and available in A LOT of colours.

In each Autumn Box, you’ll get:

  • Two knitting patterns: the Gliding Birds Mitts and Hat
  • One skein of Le Chat qui Tricote Féline yarn on the colour of your choice
  • One Kure Bazaar nail polish bottle in a surprise colourway
  • One faux-fur pompom
  • 100 g of George Cannon in a surprise flavour

I come from a family of crafters. I learnt to embroider at the age of 3 and developed a love for thread, fabric and yarn ever since. I rediscovered the joy of knitting in her studying years while I had to spend several hours on public transportation every day. I soon started designing my own patterns to play and experiment with colors and textures. I love bright colours, speckles, singles, shawls and socks so I guess you will see a lot of it here :)
